Model of Gas Geyser shall be of suitable brand of customer's choice but complying to prevailing guidelines and having a maximum capacity of 10 liters of water per minute and operating at normal working pressure of 21 mbar (g). The appliance shall be manufactured, tested and marked in accordance with all the requirements of IS 15558 or BS EN 26 standards.

Geyser / water heaters can be supplied with the
following types of flue
Balanced Flue:
This is where both the air
for combustion and products of combustion
/ fumes are taken from and extracted to outside of the building. The Balanced Flue or room sealed type geyser/ water
heater are much safer and are the preferred type. They can be installed on an
external wall in any room of a property.
External Flue:
This is where the air for
combustion is taken from inside the room and the products of combustion / fumes are discharged to outside of the
building. The geyser will have a
flue pipe fitted to the flue outlet socket of the geyser that will take the fumes to outside the building.
Flueless:
This is where both the
air for combustion and products of combustion / fumes are taken and discharged into the room.
Gas Geysers should only be installed in areas like,
Balance flue
and external flue type geysers can be installed inside kitchens, utility rooms, and passageways if adequate
ventilation is available.
Flue-less
type gas geyser can be installed outside the property in a balcony provided it is protected from the weather. In
no case it should be installed inside bathroom / bedroom / any other passage
area.
Gas Geyser
should be installed at such a height that it can be switched off easily. No Gas Geyser is permitted to be
concealed.
Tap off for
gas geyser installation shall be taken from copper pipe work, downstream of gas meter. Separate Appliance
Valve (AV) shall be provided for Gas Geyser.
Gas geysers Location:
Gas Geysers
should only be installed in areas like:
Kitchens,
Living rooms, Utility Rooms, Halls and Passageways if flueing and ventilation can be achieved.
Bedrooms / bed-sitting rooms
provided room volume is greater than 20 cubic meters
and ventilation requirements are fulfilled.
Gas Geyser
should be installed at such a height that it can be switched off easily.
No Gas
Geyser is permitted to be concealed.
Advantages of installing Geyser in Kitchen:
Safe, as chances of
asphyxiation due to emission of fumes inside the bathroom is eliminated.
Hot water will be
available in the Kitchen pipe for washing oily kitchen
